Two of SwordsReversed

A woman sits alone on high ground, blindfolded, holding two crossed swords against her chest. Behind her, a sea with rocks barely visible beneath the surface. A crescent moon rises at the edge of the frame. She is not under attack. She has retreated to a place of stillness before the difficulty that is still waiting to be faced. The crossed swords guard her heart — not from the outside world, but from having to feel what a decision would require her to feel. The rocks in the water behind her are the issues not yet fully surfaced. They will not go away.

The blindfold represents the conscious choice to limit perception — not madness, but a deliberately created stillness before a difficult choice. The two crossed swords form a barrier over the heart — protecting it from the pain of deciding by preventing the decision from being made. The rocks barely visible under the surface of the water represent unresolved issues that exist whether they are acknowledged or not. The crescent moon is the light of the unconscious — the part of us that knows, even when the eyes are covered.

A stalemate — a situation where two equally weighted forces are pulling against each other and neither can advance.

Something is being willfully unseen.
