XIX — The SunReversed

A child rides a white horse beneath a radiant sun, holding a red flag, surrounded by sunflowers. The child is naked — unguarded, joyful, fully present. The sun above is neither hot nor blinding: it is exactly right. After the darkness of the Moon, the Sun arrives as simple truth: things are good. Life is good. This card is not complicated. It does not hedge or qualify. It is one of the few places in the Major Arcana where what you see is exactly what is being offered: warmth, clarity, the pure pleasure of being alive in a moment that is going well.

The radiant sun represents full consciousness, illumination without shadow, and the warmth that sustains life. The child represents innocence — not naivety, but the pure quality of being that exists when nothing is being held back or managed. The white horse carries the same energy it has throughout the deck: purity, power, and the freedom that comes from having nothing to prove. The sunflowers represent loyalty to the light — the quality of turning, naturally and without effort, toward what nourishes.

This is a genuinely good period. Whatever has been difficult is lifting, or has lifted. Clarity has arrived in a situation that was previously murky. Success is real and earned. There is something here worth celebrating — allow yourself to actually celebrate it rather than immediately moving to the next concern. The child on the white horse is not managing anxiety about the future. There is a lesson in that.

The Sun reversed does not predict failure — it predicts a slight delay in the arrival of what is coming, or a tendency to inflate the good news beyond what the situation can support. A moment of joy or success may be real but temporary, or optimism may be running slightly ahead of the facts. Stay grounded. The warmth is real; it does not need to be exaggerated.
