Seven of CupsReversed

Seven cups float in a cloud-filled sky, each containing something different: a face, a shrouded figure, a snake, a tower, jewels, a wreath, a dragon. A dark figure in the foreground seems to behold them — or to have conjured them — arms slightly raised, as if caught between wonder and overwhelm. None of the cups are within reach. All of them glow with the quality of possibility. The Seven of Cups is the card of the imagination running ahead of the will: the proliferation of options and visions that is both a gift and a trap, depending on what you do with it.

The seven cups and their contents represent the full range of human desire and fear: beauty, mystery, wisdom, power, wealth, fame, and the unknown. None are inherently good or bad — the question is which of them reflects what you actually want, as opposed to what you have been taught to want. The dark figure in the foreground represents the part of us that stands before all this possibility, neither choosing nor refusing — transfixed by the abundance of it.

You are standing before multiple possibilities, and the problem is not a lack of options — it is the difficulty of discerning which ones are real and which are projections of desire or fear.
